What is Pain?

The definition of pain by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) is as follows:

“Pain is an unpleasant sensation that includes all past experiences of an individual, whether related to an organic cause originating from any part of the body or not.”

The definition of pain encompasses not only the feeling of physical pain in any part of the body but also sensations such as burning, tingling, numbness, throbbing, cooling, and others.
